"John Terry has been outstanding for Chelsea the last 3 years and has captained them to consecutive premiership titles. However for England is the story the same?
John has been an England regular for the last 2 years now and lets examine his performances. How many Man of the Matches has since supposedly fitire captain had? 0! How many commanding performances has he had? 0!
He has in fact made a mistake that has lead to a goal also every other game! Yet again nearly costing us with an "uncharacteristic" mistake against Jamaica on Saturday. I often laugh when I read the papers the next morning they normally give him a 6 or 7 and say either not at his usual best or that he had a good performance except for the uncharacteristic mistake that lead to the goal. I'm sorry but if you are caught out for a goal as a CB that isn't a good performance!
Mean while the most complete CB on the planet is sat at home twiddling his thumbs. Wes Brown is twice the player Rio Ferdinand is and simply should be starting. He's quicker than Rio just as good on the ball but he actually cares about defending and enjoys the ugly thing you have to do as a centre back (much like Terry). Plus he simply the best tackler there has ever been. People talk about the Moore tackle in 1970 but that is nothing compared to Brown give Henry a couple of yards head start then promptly catching him up and knicking the ball off him from behind with out even going to ground, he did this to Thierry Henry!!!
